This interpretation of "The War of the Worlds" was a recreation of Jeff Wayne's musical version of the H.G.Wells classic as staged by a collection of Ottawa musicians, producers and actors. Jeff's involvement was in the staging of a promotional event that converted a large warehouse space into a thematic environment that included a reading room for the original novel, a period-furnished listening room for the Orson Welles broadcast, a photo space where featured actors posed with a large weather balloon painted to resemble the planet Mars, and a party room where refreshments were served while the band played the music from the show. Unfortunately the actual show staging was misguidedly (hilariously) minimalist, so that in the final analysis the promotional event was superior to the show it was promoting.
